| 20.12.04 Hapag-Lloyd Container Line and NYK Line Announce Joint US East Coast / South America Service Hapag-Lloyd Container Line and NYK Line have announced a new join service between the US East Coast and South America starting mid-January 2005. The carriers will deploy three geared vessels in a fortnightly service which will feature fixed day sailings with competitive transit times. Emphasis has been placed upon schedule integrity and service realibility, as evidenced in the carriers' selection of port coverage, which focuses on the major Brazilian ports while insuring sufficent port buffer times to deal with all contingencies. Port Rotation: New York - Norfolk - Savannah - Miami - Kingston* - Sao Francisco do Sul - Santos - Sepetiba - Puerto Sucre (Venezuela) - New York. Hapag-Lloyd will market the service under the name: BEX - Brazil East Coast Express.
